Bellatrix, a guest house  for women, is set in mature gardens in close proximity to the fishing town of Castletownbere.

A fifteen minute walk from the house through a lovely forest will take you to Traneen, a sheltered cove frequented by playful seals. It is a wonderful place to swim in the warm summer months. Walking women have the luxury of many interesting walks starting right from our door step!




We are an eco friendly bed and breakfast where your shower is powered by the sun. At Bellatrix you won't eat winter strawberries with a huge carbon footprint, but in the summer you are welcome to sample some from our organic garden. The peninsula is magnificent: two days won't be enough - stay for a week and you won't want to leave.
